Game of the Week

Heat Gear

Something we truly love about Android games is the ability to do things we cannot do in the real world. Most of the time this involves fantasy, magic and a trip to a completely surreal wonderland, but in our Game of the Week, it’s all about breaking driving rules: speed, police hunt and crashes. Buckle up and get your tires ready for Heat Gear.

There are a lot of racing games for Android; some of them are very realistic and full of details, but others are a bit more casual and easier to play. Heat Gear is on the simple side. Not only because of the game modes (and the open map), but also because of the controls. You’ll start driving as soon as you download and open Heat Gear, and soon you’ll notice that it’s actually pretty straightforward. You’ve got the accelerator, the breaks, and the direction arrows. When comparing it to more realistic games, we find that in Heat Gear it is much easier to control your car, especially when turning and drifting, which makes it a perfect game for casual gamers that don’t want to spend hours learning how does this work.

In Heat Gear you’ll find up to 10 of the world’s most exciting cars that can be customized to a nice level of detail: body color, rim model, plate customization and even under neon light. It comes with a few game modes, including circuit mode, drift mode, speed mode and our favorite one: escape police mode. You’ll earn coins once you progress on any given mode, and this can be used to unlock new car models and customization options. It may sound like a very basic racing game, especially when compared to titles like Asphalt or Real Racing, but Heat Gear gets the job done: racing entertainment with no fuss.

The best part? It doesn’t need an internet connection, so once you download it, you can basically enjoy it anywhere! Ready for the speed? Don’t forget to let us know what you think in our social media channels!
